TOP 4 BATTLE: EMPTY SEATS GALORE AT ARSENAL STADIUM AGAINST WEST BROM

Thousands of Arsenal season ticket holders chose to stay away from Thursday’s Premier League tussle with West Brom.

It was widely anticipated that the Emirates Stadium would have swathes of empty seats, with predictions that the attendance could be the lowest for a decade.

Arsene Wenger’s men have been playing poorly of late and there’s no realistic chance of winning a trophy this season.

Those mitigating factors coupled with the unorthodox Thursday kick-off and the fact it’s being televised in the UK meant there were far fewer supporters than the Emirates Stadium would usually expect.

Retaining a spot in the top four and assuring Champions League qualification for 2016-17 is now Arsenal’s primary goal and Alexis Sanchez’s early opener against Tony Pulis’ side has certainly boosted the spirits of those who turned up in North London.
