How Reminisce Fired Management Days Before Release of 4th Album
It has been revealed that Reminisce reportedly severed ties with Edge Entertainment on Monday, August 22, a week before the release of his fourth studio album, El-Hadj.
The rapper’s now-former manager, Ibrahim Okulaja made the development known while speaking with TheNETng, adding that it came as a disappointment as he had put a lot of effort into the creative process of the album.
He said, ‘I was surprised to get the termination letter yesterday and decided to put it out because I don’t want speculations.’
‘I won’t say there are no issues, because like in every business, there are disagreements on directions, and some eventually get solved while some don’t’, he said on whether there were lingering issues between his management and Reminisce.
‘As you know, there are a lot of artistes I have invested heavily in and didn’t get returns.’
Contrary to reports that Reminisce was signed under Edge Records, Ibrahim clarified that the rapper, who has his own label, LRR Records, is only signed under Edge Entertainment.
‘I’ve only handled his management’, he told us.
He also clarified that budding acts, Oladips and Sojay are both signed under Reminisce’s independent label, and the new development means both acts are no longer affiliated with Edge Records/Edge Entertainment.
Ibrahim, while maintaining he doesn’t want to say too much for now, however dismissed the development as being a publicity stunt in promotion of the rapper’s forthcoming album. ‘It is for real’, he said.
