Senate Rejects Magu’s Appointment As EFCC Chairman

Reports reaching SocietyGists  has it that Ibrahim Magu has been rejected as the Chairman of anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The Nigerian Senate, while rejecting his nomination, said they could not sanction President Muhammadu Buhari’s request to make Magu the EFCC boss based on security reports at their disposal.

Aliyu Abdullahi, who made this disclosure on behalf of the lawmakers, said: “The Senate wishes to inform the public that based on available security report, the Senate cannot proceed with the confirmation of Ibrahim Magu as Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. “The nomination of Ibrahim Magu is hereby rejected and has been returned to the President for further action.”
