Before now, little did we know about Ewa Iya Qudus, a family-owned restaurant on the Lagos mainland, until WhiteMoney of Big Brother Naija Season 6 housemate made a mention of the cuisine to the world in the Big Brother House.
The eatery is tucked inside the famous Martins Street, off Oju-Elegba road.
Iya Qudus Eatery is a modest restaurant with an open kitchen where customers are served food straight from the fire.
Iya Qudus Eatery is a cosy place with welcoming staff who are attentive but work fast to move customers in quickly during busy lunch and after-work periods.
A visit begins with going straight into the outdoor cooking area and kitchen, selecting uncooked food in quantities that are dished out as the food is freshly prepared. The most popular dish here is beans with stew.
The beans is served with freshly baked bread, fried plantain cubes with a specially made accompanying sauce, which is prepared using fermented locust beans, assorted meat, smoked fish, Eja kika, palm oil, bell peppers, Scotch bonnet peppers tops the irresistible classic street-food combo.
