I received the news of the demise of ACP Lamidi Odulawa, rtd with great shock and sadness. I am particularly shocked because we spoke just a few weeks ago about political developments in our dear state, Ogun; and sad because I have lost a great and loyal lieutenant of a relationship that has spanned more than 30 years.
My entire political trajectory, before, during and after my service as the Governor of Ogun State featured late Lamidi Odulawa. During our pre-election campaign between 2001 up till the election, late Odulawa supervised some of our security arrangements while we were going round the nooks and crannies of Ogun State, traversing all 236 wards.
He eventually became my Special Adviser on Security when we had the opportunity to serve Ogun State as Governor due to the effective management of our activities security during the campaign.
Ever since, Lamidi Odulawa has remained one of the most loyal political associates, not only in Sagamu but also in the entire Remo land and Ogun State in general. I honestly will miss him, especially his words of advice on a whole lot of issues, and I pray that God should grant him eternal rest in Aljanah. Yeye and I quietly mourn his painful loss and we pray for the family that God should grant them the strength in this trying period.
His Exc, The Senator Otunba Engr Gbenga Daniel, FNSE, FAEng
