Otunba Gbenga Daniel Mourns Dr. Doyin Okupe

Former Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Dr. Doyin Okupe, a distinguished physician, politician, and former presidential aide.

Dr. Okupe, who hailed from Iperu, Ogun State, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025, at the age of 72, just 15 days before his birthday.

His death follows weeks of critical illness, leaving behind a legacy of service and dedication to Nigeria.

Otunba Daniel described Dr. Okupe as a bold, articulate, and highly resourceful leader who contributed immensely to national discourse and governance.

The senator representing Ogun East District noted that his passing is a great loss to Ogun State and the nation at large.

He extended his heartfelt condolences to the Okupe family, the people of Iperu, and all who were touched by his remarkable life.

He prayed for strength and comfort for his loved ones during this difficult time.
