Ogun East: Why We Must Return OGD to the Senate in 2027 – Banji Fuyi-Williams

Banji Fuyi-Williams of Lukogbe/Ilusin Ward 4 has urged the people of Ogun Waterside Local Government to rally behind Otunba Engr. Gbenga Daniel for a second term in the Senate.
Speaking after his recent encounter with the lawmaker at the OGD Gateway Movement Group meeting in the area, Fuyi-Williams described the meeting as a golden moment in his life.
He expressed his admiration for Senator Daniel, not just for his past achievements as governor, but for his current strides as the senator representing Ogun East.
He cited ongoing efforts that are positively shaping the future of the local government, including the establishment of a Nigerian Navy base in Abigi and Ode Omi, and the sponsored bill to upgrade GIPI Oni into the Federal Industrial and Petro-Gas University Oni.
Also mentioned were Senator Daniel’s efforts toward the creation of Ijebu State, with a bill already presented on the floor of the Senate, and the passage into law of the South West Development Commission Establishment Bill, which he initiated in 2023.
Fuyi-Williams called these initiatives laudable, pointing out that they have direct impact on Ogun Waterside’s development.
He noted that returning Otunba Gbenga Daniel to the Senate in 2027 will ensure continuity and completion of these critical projects, especially the naval base and the university upgrade, both of which will open up the area to economic growth and increased internally generated revenue.
He also applauded Senator Daniel for playing a vital role in the federal upgrade of TASUED and contributing to national legislative efforts under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
According to him, having a re-elected, ranking senator gives Ogun East access to higher funding for constituency projects and greater national influence.
In his words, “These are not just promises; they are already in motion. But to complete them, we must send him back to the Senate.”
Fuyi-Williams appealed to all political groups in Ogun Waterside to come together, set aside differences, and support the re-election of Otunba Gbenga Daniel for the continued progress of the district.
