APC Suspends House Minority Leader
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended the Minority Leader of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Ahmed Usman Haruna. This was made known to newsmen on Wednesday by the Zonal Vice Chairman. Julius Ishaya.
This is following the recent failed attempt by four of the eight APC members in the House to impeach Haruna after he granted a press conference denouncing the recent congresses of the party.
Ishaya said the lawmaker was suspended for six months after he was allegedly found guilty of violating the party’s constitution by claiming that the recent congresses of the party were not held.
He said the minority leader’s action was anti-party, embarrassing and had brought the Gombe APC into contempt and ridicule. The House had suspended the four members for fleeing with the mace during plenary.
Abdullahi Abubakar Maiwanka (Akko-west), Walid Mohammed (Kwami-west), Mohammed A. Bello (Gombe-south) and Abubakar Sadiq Ibrahim (Yamaltu-west) were suspended for four legislative sittings.
