BBNaija: Efe Returns To Nigeria, Receives Car, Signs Endorsement Deal
This morning, the winner of Big Brother Nigeria, Ejeba Efe Michael, simply known as Efe returned to Nigeria. He left Johannesburg, South Africa where the reality show was shot and was received by a massive crowd at the Muritala Muhammed Airport in Lagos.
The instant celebrity held his first conference soon after he returned at the Wheatbaker Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos. At the event, Efe thanked all his followers and supporters who voted for him. “This has been a real ride for me. I thank God that he saw me through. I started the race just being my normal self and I made sure I kept that up. I don’t want to say that it was by my own doing because only God chooses who will excel,” Efe said.
He also thanked the organisers and sponsors of the show especially Payporte who were the lead sponsors of the show. “All thanks to MultiChoice for deciding to host the show again and also for raising the bar with N25m and a jeep. I also thank Payporte for their support, they have always kept us looking fresh in the house.”
The CEO of Payporte, Eyo Bassey, said that his online shopping portal will continue to support the housemates including those who did not get to the final. He promised that he will continue to be in their lives even if he cannot sign all of them as ambassadors.
After the press briefing, Efe and the first runner-up, Bisola headed to the Payporte headquarters to sign an endorsement deal with the company.
Prior to the show, Efe who is a graduate of Economics was a rapper, and he refers to his musical style as pigin-english rap. Efe moved to Lagos because it is “where it all happens’’ and worked his way up to earn recognition. Despite his struggles to make a name with music, Efe failed numerous times without even a hit song. His biggest achievment is his Big Brother Naija win.
In a chat with Independent, Efe says that he would like to continue his musical career and also try to feature other artistes.
