BREAKING NEWS: Former Lagos HOS, Alhaji R.B Tinubu Is Dead
Reports filtering in has it that Alhaji R.B Tinubu, former Lagos Head of Service, is dead.
He died in Abuja this morning and his remains will be buried today in Lagos.
In 1990, the then Military President, General Ibrahim Babangida (Rtd) began a transition Programme to civil rule, culminating in the inauguration of the thirty (30) Member Third Assembly in January 1992.
Hon. (Alhaji) Shakirudeen Abayomi Kinyomi (Ojo1), an Engineer emerged as the Honorable Speaker, while Alhaji R.B Tinubu served as Clerk of the House.
Alhaji R.B. Tinubu was a seasoned administrator and great achiever. He possesses a Bachelors of Arts (B.A.) and Masters of Arts (M.A.) in political science from Howard University and Catholic University, Washington D.C. USA in 1971 and 1972 respectively.
As a student, he was an awardee of Ford Foundation Fellowship Award, Howard University Award for Excellence in Academics, University Deans Award, Lagos State Scholarship Award, etc.
He worked briefly as a university lecturer at Howard University, USA and University of Ife, Ile Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University. He started his civil service career as an administrative officer with Lagos State Government. He rose through the ranks to become Head of Service in 1999 and honorably retired as Head of Service, Lagos State Civil Service in 2004.
He is an author of some books and publications, a speech writer and a motivational speaker. Alhaji Tinubu is survived by wives with children.
