COSON Loses Suit to Stop MCSN As Collecting Society
A Federal High Court in Lagos has affirmed the Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria (MCSN) as a Collective Management Organisation (CMO) for musical works and sound recordings in Nigeria.
Justice Ibrahim Buba gave the ruling Tuesday in a suit filed by the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) Ltd seeking to stop MCSN from operating as a CMO.
The judge held that COSON’s application lacked merit and dismissed the entire suit.
