It is said that love makes the world go round and showing love to your fellow human being builds a healthier society. That is why charity and humanitarianism exists.
Apart from living the glamorous life, some celebrities have shown that they are also humanitarians by giving to the society, part of what they have earned, and also pull their stardom to campaigns to raise awareness.

On this note, Popular film maker, Demola Otayemi has set up a charity project with friends and associates which will henceforth cater for the downtrodden in the society.

The programme which is yet to be officially unveiled is aimed to alleviate the gnawing poverty and hunger on the streets of Lagos.

The Non-Governmental project is set up to be a catering outfit for the needy, homeless and the working poor within Agbado-Oke Odo area of Lagos State as a measure to mitigate the menace of hunger-related crimes.

The Ogun State born theapian believes that we should learn to light a candle in the darkest moments of someone’s life and be the light that helps others see as it is what gives life its deepest significance.
“For me, the biggest blessing about my films and profession, is that I have the ability to impact positively on the lives of others across all backgrounds. Giving back has always been an important principle to me. I’m just thankful that I’m now in the position to do so, consistently”.

However, he also have few words for the doubting Thomases who believes the project is a flash in the pan and it is politically motivated.

“We have no political motives, neither are we set up for money laundering. We have no ulterior motive other than the desire to help these people, to change their mindset, to give them an opportunity to know that somebody still cares and that somebody is still interested in their future,” He articulates.

The programme is set to take place every last Sunday of the month with several numbers of less privilege people to be catered for.
