EFCC Arrests ‘Yahoo’ Singer, Naira Marley
The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), has arrested Nigerian rapper, Naira Marley.
The ‘Issa Goal’ singer is currently being questioned at the EFFC office in Lagos.
The reasons for his arrest have not been made public but it is believed to be in connection with his statements on social media glorifying internet fraud.Naira Marley had released the official video of latest single, ‘Am I A Yahoo Boy’ featuring Zlatan Ibile on Thursday.
In April 2019, Naira Marley had said in an Instagram post that if anyone knew about the transatlantic slave trade then said person cannot call yahoo yahoo a crime.
He also urged Nigerians to pray for cybercriminals because they helped the economy.
His comments created a storm on social media with some criticising him and others supporting him.
