Election 2015: Plot to Unseat Lagos APC Chairman thickens over Inability to Deliver LG to Party
There is a grand plot to remove the Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Otunba Henry Oladele Ajomale, for allegedly failing to deliver his local government, Oshodi-Isolo, to the party in the last general elections.
However, supporters of the Chairman argued that rather than removing Ajomale, he deserves commendation for leading the party to victory in the last general elections.
Our investigation revealed that a woman in the party and a former Commissioner in the state are the brains behind the alleged plot to unseat the chairman.
It was reliably learnt that there has been no love lost between the woman leader and Ajomale while the former commissioner is said to be scheming to become the state party chairman and they are using the party’s loss in Oshod-Isolo to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last general elections as basis to unseat him.
In the last general elections, APC candidates lost all but one election to the PDP in Ajomale’s local government, Oshodi-Isolo.
The party was only able to win the Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency 1 in the elections but lost the two state Assembly seats, the second Federal Constituency seat and the presidential polls to the PDP in the local government.
Even Ajomale’s son, Ladi, lost in his bid to represent the Oshodi-Isolo State Constituency 2 in the state Assembly to the PDP candidate who is from the southeastern part of Nigeria.
It was reliably gathered that the woman leader has the intention of fielding her own candidate to succeed Ajomale.
The supporters of Ajomale are however resisting this, saying the Chairman deserves praise for leading the party to victory in the state despite the stiff opposition by the PDP.
