Exclusive: 4 Mansions, N2bn Found In Sacked LIRS Boss, Olufolarin Ogunsanwo Bank Account
According to a popular saying, When a round peg is put in a round hole, there is every tendency that the outcome would be excellence. But reverse was the case when Mr. Olufolarin Ogunsanwo was applauded on his appointment as the Chairman of Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) some months back.
It is no longer news that Ogunsanwo has been sacked as the Chairman of LIRS by the state Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode last week but the reason behind the motive is still shady to many, as it comes as a shock to Lagosians.
However, Societygists.com investigations revealed that the embattled tax collector who is a close associate of Ambode was accused of misappropriation of tax payers fund which is running into billions of naira in the agency.
Inside sources revealed to Societygists.com of how Ogunsanwo has enriched himself with taxpayers money in less than a year after becoming the head honcho at LIRS.
It was gathered that over N2b (two billion naira) was found in his fixed deposit account in one of the top Nigeria bank. The money, we learnt was deposited in the bank few months after becoming the Chairman of LIRS.
Another source who works within the agency also revealed to Societygists.com that, since Ogunsanwo became the Chairman of the agency, he has also acquired choice properties in Magodo Phase 1 and Banana Island and 2 other houses in other locations in the state.
As at the time of filing this report, no official press statement has been released over his impromptu sack from LIRS.
