Former Ogun Governor Sets Precedent As Dankwambo Forfeits Pension for Senate Duty
In a remarkable display of integrity and public service, Dr. Ibrahim Dankwambo, the Senator representing Gombe North, has chosen to follow in the footsteps of former Ogun State Governor Otunba Gbenga Daniel by forfeiting his pensions during his tenure in the Senate.
This principled decision aims to uphold a sense of duty and responsibility to his people.
Previously, Otunba Daniel was the first former governor to set aside his benefits in order to maintain the public’s trust and confidence, a move that garnered widespread recognition. Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, former Governor of Niger State, later emulated this gesture.
Dr. Dankwambo, through this decision, has urged Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Yahaya to suspend the monthly pension and allowance, which he receives as a former governor.
