Francisca Owumi, who rose to fame as the first runner-up on Big Brother Naija’s debut season, has died following a brief illness.

Her family announced the news on social media on August 29, 2024.

The family shared her photo and wrote, “A daughter and sister. May her soul rest in peace, Amen.”

Francisca was known for her energetic dance moves and competed alongside other notable housemates including winner Katung Aduwak, Ebuka Obi Uchendu, Gideon Okeke, Maureen Osuji, Ify Ejikeme, and the late Joseph Ada.

After her BBNaija appearance, she briefly pursued a music career, releasing the singles “Gbadun You” and “Diva.”
