Hamster Kombat Faces Massive Backlash In Nigeria Over Unfair Airdrop
Hamster Kombat, a well-known play-to-earn (P2E) gaming platform, is presently in the midst of a storm as users express mounting frustration and fury about recent disqualifications from the site’s highly anticipated Season 1 airdrop.
The backlash derives from what many gamers see as unfair criteria that have left a large part of the community feeling misled and disappointed.
In recent times, Hamster Kombat announced that the first season of its in-game rewards will conclude on September 20, 2024, ahead of next week’s highly anticipated HMSTR token launch and airdrop.
The Outrage: Unjust Disqualifications and Broken Promises
The outrage centers on the sudden and unexpected disqualification of approximately 63% of players from the Season 1 airdrop, allegedly due to their collection of in-game keys. Many players were previously led to believe that these keys were not essential for airdrop eligibility.
However, as the airdrop approachs, it became clear that key collection was crucial for receiving rewards, resulting in many players being disqualified.
Many players see these changes as betrayal, especially those who have dedicated months to building their Point Per Hour (PPH). The Point Per Hour is a metric emphasized by Hamster Kombat as key to airdrop eligibility. The last-minute addition of key collection as a deciding factor has left players felling that their efforts were wasted.
Community Reactions: False Badge of Cheating and Wasted Time
The community’s reaction has been swift and fierce.
False Badge of Cheating
A major issue is that many players have been labeled as cheaters bassed solely on their key collection activities. Media influencers asserts that many players who accumulated a modest number of keys, often just 100 to 200, were disqualified.
On the other hand, those exploiting the system with key generators and multiple accounts remain eligible. This has led to feelings of injustice among the community, with many players being unfairly branded as cheaters despite their honest efforts.
Wasted Time and Effort
Another big complaint is that players have invested time and effort into the game, only to be qualified for a requirement they were initially told was irrelevant.
Crypto with khan emphasized that many players spent months grinding to increase their PPH, only to find out that their work was essentially for nothing. The sudden shift in focus from PPH to key collection has been particularly frustrating, with users feeling that their dedication has been disregarded.
Worst Allocation in History
After three months of wait, player have received very less tokens in their wallet and on top of it they can claim only certain part of it, nost of it is locked up, which will be unlocked in parts,
This has raised a lot of anger among the users as, after this long wait, they were not expecting vested tokens. Taking a look at this, users are calling it “One of the worst airdrops in crypto.”
Should Players Uninstall?
The frustration among players has reached a point where some are considering whether to continue supporting Hamster Kombat at all. The sense of betrayal has created a rift between the platform and its community, with some users contemplating uninstalling the game entirely. The platform’s ability to restore trust remains uncertain, as many now seek reassurance that their loyalty will be recognized and rewarded.
Calls for Action: Re-Evaluation and Transparency
In response to the backlash, the community is urging Hamster Kombat to implement a re-evaluation process for disqualified accounts. Players believe that a transparent review system should be introduced, allowing disqualified users to appeal and potentially regain their eligibility for the airdrop.
As players are unhappy, the Hamster team needs to come forward and address the community and clear their doubts on the token launch
