The duo of Abiodun and Adebutu had met on at the 80th birthday party of Prophetess Victoria Fayose, mother of the former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose.
Gov Abiodun, standing, was seen holding a former spokesperson of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Doyin Okupe and at the same time maintaining a handshake with Adebutu, whose look did not show he was unhappy with the governor.
There was another picture taken from the same event where Adebutu bowed while exchanging pleasantries with Fayose.
Majority of Ogun State indigenes, including non-indigenes who have seen the pictures, are miffed at the disrespectful act of the son of ‘Baba Ijebu’ who would not honour the exalted office of the governor, who is noted as a ‘complete gentleman’.
Both Adebutu and Abiodun hail from Iperu in Ikenne Local Government of Ogun State.
Meanwhile, those familiar with Ogun politics have said Adebutu’s cold disposition to Governor Abiodun might have been informed by ‘local politics’. They claim Adebutu, an opposition PDP chief, has not forgiven those he believed contributed to his defeat by billionaire politician, Senator Buruji Kashamu, during their governorship contest to rule Ogun State.
Senator Kashamu, who has since joined hands with the APC’s Governor Abiodun, had trounced Adebitu as a result of court judgments that favoured him.
