Since its debut in August 2023, the event has grown into a cultural staple, blending music, freedom, and a wild sense of community in a way only Lagos can deliver.

Now gearing up for its 9th edition, MAD WAVES continues to raise the bar, pulling in hundreds of guests each month who gather under the open sky at Wave Beach, Elegushi to dance, vibe, and feel alive. With over 50 DJs booked since inception and countless surprise celebrity appearances, the event has established itself as a playground for Lagos’ misfits, creatives, party starters, and energy junkies alike.

What sets MAD WAVES apart isn’t just the music or the crowd—it’s the unfiltered energy. The event often kicks off around 9PM and runs until the early hours, fusing a rotating lineup of DJs, hype men, live performers, and beachside madness into a night that feels more like a fever dream than a scheduled event.

Each edition brings something new. From Afrobeats and Amapiano to unexpected live performances, the only rule is: come wavy or don’t come at all. Attendees are encouraged to let loose, make new connections, and share the joy of the moment with total strangers turned temporary family.
