The rapper was believed to have landed himself in trouble over his newly released single, ‘Am I a yahoo boy?’ with Zlatan, in which both rappers addressed their perceived involvement in internet fraud. Naira Marley had, shortly before the song’s release, been involved in controversial posts where he seemed to make excuses for internet fraudsters.
He, Zlatan and 3 others were then arrested on the same day.
Zlatan and the other three suspects were released on administrative bail 4 days after their arrest, while Naira Marley was left in EFCC Custody. The anti-graft commission has said it refused the rapper bail because it had overwhelming evidence against him.
However, in the statement released by Naira Marley’s management, they claim that the EFCC has no damning evidence against the ‘Issa Goal’ rapper. The management said in the statement that the items that had been found on him were borrowed for the purpose of uploading his music and videos.
Naira Marley’s management ended the statement by assuring his fandom (Marlians) that they have lawyers working tirelessly to prove his innocence. His fans were also appreciated for their continuous support.
