NFVCB Boss, Adedayo Thomas To Be Arraigned In Court For Alleged Multi Billion Naira Fraud, Sexual Harassment
The Executive Director of National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), Mr. Adedayo Thomas will be arraigned in court next week on issues relating to corruption, stealing of government property and sexual harassment.
It was alleged that all the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) overhead and capital fund received last year by the Board running into over N150 billion naira was siphoned through cronies and fake field operations by Thomas.
The embattled director was also alleged to have converted the sum of N13 million approved for a consumer forum in Bauchi from January 29 to 30 to his private use, and released only a paltry sum of N4 million naira for the event and pocketed N9 million.
Speaking in a telephone interview, Chairman of the Special Presidential Investigation Panel for Recovery of Public Property, Mr. Okoi Obono Oblar revealed that the panel did a thorough investigation and discovered that Thomas abused his office as the ED of NFVCB after a petition was received in Abuja about him.
“We acted on a petition that he stole government’s generator and he was arrested. We found the person that he sold the generator to and how much he sold the generator.
“He was arrested and he made confessional statement to us and he might be charged to court on Monday or Tuesday. We have since released him, but we seized his travelling documents,” he said in the interview.
