Okowa’s Aide Involved In N3.3 Million Shoddy Deal
Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa’s Commissioner for Higher Education, Engr. Jude Sinebe has been accused for aiding high profile crimes in some government agencies under his ministry.
It was learnt that the Rector, Delta State Polytechnic Oghara, Clara Sogbaike and the Governing Council of the institution are diverting students Insurance Fund to private pockets, thereby enriching themselves.
It was gathered that Okowa’s Higher Education Commissioner, Mr. Sinebe has joined in the embezzlement process after an enlarge meeting with the Rector and her cohorts in his office where it was agreed that Sinebe be carried along in the scheme of things.
Reports has it that, the Rector, Sogbaike and the governing council of the institution, led by the chairman, governing council, Mr. Andy Asawota, approved the sum of N3.3 million naira each for the purchase of generators for their private homes.
The 3.3million naira was also approved and given to Sinebe, plus other cash which was also handed him, to be silent on the activities of the Rector and the council members.
In a petition dated 14th September, 2016 to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) against the Commissioner for Higher Education, Engr. Sinebe, the petitioner said that there were financial misappropriation and a high level of complicity by the Commissioner in covering up crimes in his ministry.
