Pa Amos Ojekunle Oliyide Buries Dad In Grand Style
Steve Oliyide, media aide to Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel, representing Ogun East District, recently laid his father, Pa Amos Ojekunle Oliyide, to rest in a grand ceremony.
Pa Oliyide, who was born on 18th February 1940, passed away peacefully on 29th July 2024 at the age of 84.
The family organised a unique two-in-one tribute to honour the late patriarch alongside a remembrance service for Mrs Florence Adebola Oliyide (née Tonade), Steve’s mother, who passed away on 20th November 1978.
The event began with a wake-keep on Thursday, 28th November 2024, at the family home at No. 14, Olaboopo Daramola Close, Sango Ota, Ogun State.
The following day, a funeral outing and thanksgiving service were held on Friday, 29th November 2024, at St. Stephen’s African Church, Abule Tuntun, Iroko Town, Lagos.
The service was attended by Otunba Gbenga Daniel and other dignitaries, reflecting the high regard in which the family is held.
After the church service, Pa Oliyide was laid to rest in a private interment ceremony at the family residence. The solemn moment allowed close family members to bid their final goodbyes to a beloved father and patriarch.
Later in the day, a reception for guests was held at MHQ Events Centre, opposite Rhema Church, Temidire, Sango Ota, Ogun State.
Friends, family, and well-wishers gathered to celebrate the life of Pa Oliyide and honour the enduring legacy of Mrs Florence Oliyide.
