PDP’s Edo Gov Candidate, Ize-iyamu, Loses Campaign Director to APC
Mallam Balarable Saidu, the campaign Director of the governorship candidate of Edo state People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Pastor Osagie Ize-iyamu has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Saidu led hundreds of supporters of the PDP to decamp to APC at the flag-off of the party’s governorship campaign at Auchi saying he decided to defect after spending 10 years in PDP without any meaningful development in the senatorial zone.
The ex PDP chieftain noted that his children and generations unborn will not forgive him if he failed to work with Comrade Adams Oshiomhole who worked assiduously to improve infrastructure like roads, schools and healthcare in the zone.
“My brothers and sisters from Edo North, I hereby stand before you people with over two thousand persons from the dying PDP to join our Comrade Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, so that more development can come our way,” he said.
“Today, Edo North is like small London. With our son, Hon. Philip Shaibu, joining Godwin Obaseki, heaven is our limit.”
Also speaking at the event, the APC flagbearer for the September 10 Edo governorship election, Godwin Obaseki, promised to revamp the abandoned Agbede and Warrake Farms as part of his employment agenda.
On his part, Governor Adams Oshiomhole said he will continue to work till the end of his administration as he announced that N3 billion has been released for the renovation of primary schools across the 192 wards in the state.
According to him, “With this, not less than six schools from each ward will benefit from the renovation”.
