Police Parade Ex-NURTW Chairman, Rafiu Olohunwa For Murder ( PHOTOS
The Lagos Police Command Friday paraded a former chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Lagos chapter, Rafiu Akanni Olohunwa, over the murder of one Ganiyu Ayinla, a.k.a Piero. An arrested hired assassin, Adeola Williams, better known as Ade Lawyer, reportedly confessed to the police that Oluhunwa contracted him to murder NURTW Lagos Island Chairman Azeez Lawal (a.k.a. Kunle Poly).
However, Ade Lawyer missed his target, but succeeded in killing Ayinla, a personal assistant to Lawal, on Lagos Island on January 23. He was said to have confessed that Olohunwa paid him N500,000 upfront and promised to pay a balance of N1million when the job was done. He however reneged on his promise because the hired killers missed their target.
A source said the suspect claimed “Olohunwa refused to give them the N1, 000,000 balance because they killed the personal assistant, instead of the man he sent them to eliminate.
“Hence, Adeola Williams a.k.a. Ade Lawyer traced the driver of Olohunwa and seized his black Hyundai Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) from the driver. He called the owner that they would release his SUV after he paid them their N1 million balance.
“He said they needed to hide until tension subsided since two of his accomplices had been arrested by the police.
“He confessed that Olohunwa has been calling him to be very careful and that he should hide because his members have been arrested.
“He listed other victims he killed in the past to include Rasaq Bello a.k.a Hamburger, a union chairman in Oshodi, Babajide Dosumu aka Mados in Ebute Meta, Salawe in Ajah, Ganiyu Asaro and others in Badore where he said he sprayed bullets in their car and killed the five occupants.”
Ade Lawyer was arrested in Akure, Ondo state, where he fled to.
