Sammy Oma Releases “Philo’
After the massive radio airplay enjoyed by her last single titled Kooda featuring Tristar, Nigeria’s Afro-fusion act, Sammy Oma has delivered yet another captivating and irresistible single titled Philo to reiterate her prowess in the music industry.
The artist who drew her inspiration from legends like Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, Bob Marley, Tuface Idibia, and Asa, said music has been her second flesh from birth, the reason she will never dish out half-baked music.
“I have done music all my life, it has been my second flesh from birth. I do music because it’s a shared art and to make people listen to me, and understand my feelings and emotions. I am creating a new sound and harmonies that haven’t been heard from a female act. I have promised myself never to do half-baked music” she claimed.
Sammy Oma added that the quote of an American Socialite, Helen Lawrenson that says “If a woman is sufficiently ambitious, determined and gifted, there is practically nothing she can’t do” has always been her watchword that despite the industry being saturated with the male gender she’ll carve her niche in no time.
Philo, the afrobeat track which captivates audiences with its infectious rhythm and heartfelt lyrics is a perfect fusion of modern and traditional sounds.
