Senators Daniel Olugbenga and Asuquo Ekpenyong Lead Bill Sponsorship Among Newcomers in 10th Senate

Senators Daniel Olugbenga and Asuquo Ekpenyong have emerged as the top performers among first-time senators in the 10th Senate, each sponsoring 13 bills.
This finding comes from an analysis by OrderPaper that examines the contributions of first-time senators during the Senate’s inaugural year. They are followed closely by Senator Banigo Harry, representing Rivers West, with 11 sponsored bills.
The 10th Senate, with 68 new senators, has seen these newcomers making a significant impact.
First-time senators contributed 51.4% of the 475 bills submitted in the first year, showcasing a fresh wave of energy and ideas.
Senators Wasiu Sanni (Lagos Central), Nwoko Munir Nwoko (Delta North), and Tony Nwoye (Anambra North) each sponsored 10 bills, while Senators Saliu Mustapha (Kwara Central), Khalid Mustapha (Kaduna North), and Kaka Lawan (Borno Central) introduced 9 bills each. Senator Ndubueze Chiwuba (Imo North) followed with 8 bills.
OrderPaper’s analysis, part of its broader mission to promote legislative accountability, highlights the productivity of these new senators and marks a significant shift in Nigeria’s political landscape.
