Seyi Makinde Sacks Special Assistant On Digital Media

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Friday, sacked his special assistant on Digital Media, Murtala Adigun, popularly known as Adigun Ibadan barely a month after his appointment.

In a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Olubamiwo Adeosun, dated March 27, 2020, the governor approved the termination of his appointment as Special Assistant (Digital Media) with immediate effect.

The letter thanked him for his contribution during his brief stint with the administration and wished him success in future endeavours.

Although, a reason was not given for his sack, Adigun had on Thursday paraded fumigation equipment purchased by the Lagos State government as an achievement of Governor Seyi Makinde in curbing the spread of COVID-19. He also used pictures taken by the Lagos State Media team.

In a post on his official Facebook account, the governor‘s former SA wrote, “Oyo state Government in her readiness to combat the escalation of COVID-19 virus purchases disinfecting machines to be used across the State”.

The SA, who is an alumnus of the University of Ibadan then added a picture of machines to be used for the disinfection process.

However, it was later discovered that the picture he posted were that of the disinfectants equipment acquired by the Government of Lagos State.

Adigun who only recently became a Special Assistant (Digital Media) to the governor on Thursday, February 7 took to Twitter to post about his dismissal.

Sharing his letter of termination, Adigun wrote; “You called for it, you have gotten it….Thanks to everybody that contributed to my downfall.”

Adigun was a farmer then a classroom teacher before his appointment.
