A couple of years back, former President Olusegun Obasanjo drew the crème de la crème to his Abeokuta, Ogun State palatial mansion for the wedding of his daughter, Olubunmi. But not many who saw Obasanjo’s former wife, Taiwo Martins at the ceremony were aware of how close she was to being disgraced on her day of joy.

Sources at the wedding bash disclosed that it took the concerted effort of respected family members to persuade Obasanjo to allow Taiwo to perform her role as the bride’s mother.

A source said Obasanjo refused to admit the woman into the engagement venue and when allowed, she was almost denied a seat close to the former president as tradition required. It was said that at the party, Obasanjo was raining curses on the woman who had a running battle with him in the 1990s and took the man to the cleaners on the pages of newspapers and celebrity magazines.
