The Rising Profile of Bode Clothing’s Boss, Lateef Sorunke
Abd’Lateef Sorunke is a young, energetic, and talented fashion designer who focuses on men’s clothing line, Bode Clothing.
His work draws inspiration from local Nigerian fabrics coupled with urban tailoring designs.
His designs are masculine, yet modern and trendy by way of transforming an ordinary look into a sophisticated design that embraces elegance.
A graduate of Electrical Electronic Engineering acquired his love for fashion when he was a young boy where he spent his time sketching and drawing. He loves to work with colors, and his awesome talent has seen his pieces worn by famous socialites, politicians and celebrities.
The 28 year old Ogun State entrepreneur is a firm believer that true entrepreneurs are born, not made. He also believes that there are certain qualities that every successful entrepreneur possesses, and these qualities are fostered through one’s experiences and upbringing.
‘My first venture into entrepreneurship was in school. I never got allowance as a kid, I could never afford all the cool clothes or gadgets. So I tried to make my own way. I used to buy fairly used shirts (Akube) from katanguwa (Super) and resell to my colleagues’, he continues.
‘My first actual ‘job’ was as a contract staff at Tech Mahindra as a call centre advisor. I did that for three years, then the contract ended and was not renewed due to economic recession’.
Young and successful, he is a talented fashion designer to watch out for as his name continues to cause ripples in both the local and global fashion industries.

creations are also sold globally in all West Africa countries, UK, US, and Finland.
He also
uses his talent to make an impact on the community through a mentoring program he runs that helps young and upcoming Nigerian designers excel and compete on a global platform.
Nature, colors, and artwork are his main sources of inspiration.
